Understanding the Process

Super and Regular 8 and 16 MM

Before film is transferred it is inspected for torn sprockets and splices then cleaned and conditioned.  If the film is in poor condition it must be restored before transferring.  An estimate will be given before proceeding.

Color correction and Editing

If film is old it might have lost some color.  Also, if film was improperly used indoors or out then it will have a color shift (mostly red).  This can be corrected.

Voice Overs

If you would like to have a running commentary describing the scenes and people, adding a voice over can be done.  This help further generations remember their relatives and makes it more enjoyable for the audience.  You can do this by using a tape recorder (plugged in) and starting the video at the same time as the tape recorder.  This will keep the two sources in sync.  However, fees apply because of the time it will take to transfer from tape to computer.  If you use a CD, it will be much faster and cheaper.

Inserting Music

If you have music bring it in.  If not, we can download from iTunes for usually $.99 per song.

Organizing Films

If your films are out of order we can easily put them back.  Either you can come to the studio or we can come to you.  Putting films in chronological order is always more enjoyable to watch.

DVD Authoring

Standard DVD authoring for film transfers include a basic menu and chapter markers.  If a more dynamic and multi-paged menu is required then an authoring fee will apply.
